Simple but Effective Facial Exercises

by Jen Hopkins

Facial exercise is one way of keeping the face young looking, beautiful and fresh naturally. Once you start an exercise routine for the face, you should do it everyday until you get used to it then you can tone down to exercising thrice a week.

There are a lot of exercises for the face. There are exercises focused on improving certain areas such as the eyes, cheeks, forehead and lips.

Eye Exercises

Working on your PC and too much TV can stress out the eyes. Some exercise you can do to relax the eye muscles is to simply sit upright and close your eyes. While your eyes are closed, look down as far as you can. Then open your eyes and this time; look as far away as possible. And then lift your brows slowly and keep it that way for as long as you are comfortable.

Exercise for the Cheeks

The cheeks can be easily noticed so you have to keep them relaxed and do cheek exercises to help keep them firm and avoid premature sagging. A facial exercise for the cheek involves closing the lips in a relaxed way and slowly making a pout. This exercise must be repeated ten times. Another is simple way to firm up the cheeks is the smiling exercise. Just smile, count to five then relax back.

Exercising the Forehead

Most of the aging wrinkles can be first noticed in the forehead. This is why it is an area that needs a lot of attention when it comes to facial exercises. You can relax your forehead muscles by sitting down and bring down your eyebrows. While you are at it, wrinkle your nose about ten times, and do five sets of this exercise. Another exercise you can do is to lay down flat and stare up the ceiling. And then while staring, lift your eyebrows; do this exercise 10 times.

Exercise for the lips

You can exercise your lips by simply puckering up and bring the corners of your mouth together. Then count to five before relaxing back - do this five times. You may also close your lips then curl your lips into your mouth, hold it in then count to ten.

Doing facial exercises is a cost-efficient way of getting younger looking and an improved appearance. You do not need splurge on facial surgery or cosmetics and these exercises are also non evasive.

Simply by including these exercises in your routines, you can stimulate your facial muscles, achieve firm skin and stall the signs of aging.
